Just wanted to point out that the ad-hoc w3c meeting was hosted by
Macromedia themselves, and the statement they released did say that
Microsoft already had presented some potential options.
It will be interesting to see how this all ends up if Microsoft looses
their appeal, or if the judge orders an injunction against IE. I'm
kind of hoping MS does lose, simply because it will shake up the whole
industry. These last 2 years have been entirely too boring.

I think Flash will be fine...if however this gets IE any closer to
it's non-standard buggy ass grave (and I hope they miscalculate the
size the grave, because they only measured the width of the inside of
the coffin! hah! Well...I can dream anyway :)) I'm all for it, no
matter how invalid the patent is.
