Seriously, though, the pigs were from the line "I wanna hear you squeal
like a piggy" from the movie Deliverance, where the Dueling Banjos and
the reference to whts-his-name in the canoe came from. Why not a
squirrel and penguin?
Hazzard (yes, two z's) County from the TV show is fictional and, I
think, supposed to be in GA. Hazard is a city in KY, and I have a
client there.
I live about 10-12 miles from the original KFC.
The KKK is traditionally associated with the South. Duh.
All of these are simply Southern stereotypes and references stuffed
together in an amusing way. That's about it, really.
