The wiggles are an Australian 4-man group of child entertainers/educators
with brightly-colored shirts, they also have a supporting cast including a
pirate with a ticking "feather sword", a dog named Wags, a Rosasaurous
(rose-eating dinosaur) named Dorothy and Henry the Octopus... who leads an
underwater big band.

Bear ends each show telling Luna (the moon) about what they did "that day".

Yup, I'm the one that gets up with the 15 month old in the mornings and
turns on Playhouse Disney.  I now know why parents are insane... it's not
because of the kids, it's because of their "innocent programming" on TV.
Right now I have the Wags Tango running through my head, and before that it
was the music for their new "Super Short" show.  When you're subjected to
the same shows, songs and episodes 2 to 3 times each day 6 days a week they
get drilled into your head.  Playhouse Disney has what equates to a 3 hour
set of programs and they run them starting at about 5am until just after
noon.  I'm saying this *from experience*.

Don't get me wrong, the programming is great for kids, educational and the
only annoying ad is for their website, playhousedisney.com (where you can do
all kinds of fun things, or so they say).  Their MC-esque character is this
innocent little claymation blob... named Clay (wow, what a coincidence!) and
he has a friend named Page (which is a piece of paper that flies in as
either a paper airplane or an origami swan) who cheerfully deliver the word
of the day.

There's one show they just took out (I think?)... PB&J Otter, though I'm not
sure if it's gone or not.  Think something along the lines of the Little
Rascals meet Mayberry in a cartoon setting.

The one thing I will say is thank GOODNESS they finished that accursed "A to
Z" event with Stanley... I don't even want to start on that!

Great, now that song's in my head.  I think I'll go bang it against a wall
now!

Until Later!

I asked my kids about this. The 11yo says the wiggles are cool. And there
is no fifth Wiggle. (I guess that was the joke??) She was less sure about
Luna, said she was either an octopus or a fox, which is wrong I think. Her
brother looked at her like she was out of her mind. Apparently she
encountered the Wiggles on a sleepover at a friend's who has a 4-yo
brother, and demonstrate a Wiggle dance for me.

did on college (which is probably why I have no degree =)
