Phantom isn't just vapor(hard)ware, it is compelling to me.
There's nothing wrong with educational games for kids (remember the
"Edutainment" section of Babbage's anyone? Bueller?) at all, and if
Infinium is going to rope in this content early, they might land a
demographic that other consoles might not readily market towards -
parents with young kids.
I'm probably a lousy example - I'm a parent with young kids and I have 8
consoles hooked up to my TV's, but when they're old enough to want to
play a game, I'd love to flip on Reader Rabbit or Zoombinis without
having to rent it or buy it, since they'll grow out of those in a couple
of years anway.
In a way, this is tangential to the Game Rental thread we've had.
Infinium may well offer everything from Postal 2 to Carmen Sandiego -
that just fattens up their userbase in my opinion - smart move on their
part.
Now, when do we actually get to *SEE* this Phantom, anyway? Hmm?
