Me?

(Oh wait, you said "right mind")

I've got the 30GB model. I've got roughly 7000 songs on the iPod at the
moment. A mix of singles and albums. Which makes it about 2/3 full.

I will end up filling it up, and probably needing to delete things to rotate
different songs and albums.

I do store a little bit of data on it, as well.

As for whether or not Apple can sell hardware to a limited audience, I think
they do it very well.

I paid $499 for the darn thing. Plus accessories. That is more than I paid
for any other computer I own at the moment, except my xServe and Sony Viao.

Its more than I paid for my projector, my desktops, my touch screens, my
ebook reader, my cellphone, my digital camera, my TV, my Tivo, etc.

I bought an xServe because I was impressed with my iPod and previously with
my iMac (and a little because of my Apple ][).

If they came out with a modern eBook reader, I'd be on it immediately.

If they did a camera with the same engineering details, I'd by it.

Or a professional quality digital recorder to replace my minidisc.

There are a myriad of consumer electronics I would by from them if they made
them _right_. Only Sony is coming close to answering my desires for personal
electronics. And they get it wrong as often as they get it right.

space.

I had a 6Gig MP3 player when they first came out, and that held 120-130
albums

Who in their right mind has 1000+ albums? <g>
