There were emulators for all versions of the Gameboy very soon after
they were released as well.
There is even one for the Gameboy Advanced that plays games
fantastically on the PC.

What I find the most interesting is the speed with which the N-Gage's
security (if any) was cracked. Perhaps Nokia doesn't have any
experience in securing their operating systems (other than basic stuff
like sandboxing J2ME) and was totally unprepared for the N-Gage's fate
at the hand of clever hackers.
Also, it's a pain in the neck to get new game cards installed in the
N-Gage - another bad design choice on Nokia's part.
