Specifically, we are looking for technical professionals such as yourselves with skills in the areas listed below to help out on a number of high-profile projects. Kevin Schmidt, helping out with this effort would give you the perfect chance to stand next to Clark and get your picture taken with him.
This is part of a high-profile, national effort involving some of the best and brightest people working on very important systems. If nothing else, this will look great on your resume and the work you do will help make the world a better place.
We are looking for technical professionals with the following general skill sets, and you will be able to do the work from home without ever getting out from in front of your computer (that is, unless you want to join us for all-nighters in Arkansas, which we can arrange). You are free to donate as much or as little time as you choose, and all volunteer work is appreciated.
I encourage anyone who thinks they can help in any of these areas to drop me a line introducing yourself at my personal email address at techsoldaten2 AT comcast DOT net.
1) PHP / Perl Developers
2) Graphic Designers
3) Flash Developers
4) Network Administrators
5) Content Writers / Strategists
Please let me know if you have any of the skills listed above, or even if you are just interested in helping in other ways. Also, pass this message along to anyone you feel may want to get involved.
To be clear, I receive no money for my efforts but do get a real sense of pride knowing my work is used by groups throughout the U.S. who otherwise would have no access to Web technology.
Thanks for your time and please - no flames. I screened this with Mike D, I have no plans on making a habit out of this, and some people appreciate being offered these kinds of opportunities. Feel free to send questions or comments to me offlist at this email address.
