If you ask me, marriage affords tax and other legal benefits for two people
who enter into this special relationship for _whatever_ reason.  Regardless
if you think it's morally right or wrong, the government should have no
place making laws that dictate which family values are ok and which aren't.
Our country is very divided on this point, obviously.  This is not as cut
and dry as, say, murder.  Impressing your moral, ethical, and religious
viewpoints on others is fine for someone to do in their own private sphere,
but not in public law.  Isn't that why we have separation of church and
state?

OK, everybody's right about the things I said being applicable to
heterosexual marraiges as well... but I just think it's wrong. Ethically,
morally, religiously, and naturally wrong

I might not have as much of a problem with the solution that Bill said - a
legal union - I guess it might be the word marriage that is keeping me from
liking this.

  yeah! what he said!

Seriously, whilst you may be right about a certain percentage of the
femal population wanting a traditional life and marriage, etc.... don't
assume it's a huge percentage or that we're not "mentally" able to keep
up with the boyish escapades ... ;)

/me gets the muffin pan ready ...

  Cheers,
