ok...didn't post to cf-talk since this isn't a CF related question...hopefully it doesn't get lost in the bush thread :)
our intranet home page is a long unruly scrolling somanabitch. we're currently working on a redesign...but that's neither here nor there. the problem is that when somebody scrolls down to the bottom and clicks a link...when they hit the 'back' button on the browser, they're taken to the top of the home page...which means they've got to scroll down again.
now, i've been on longer pages where i've clicked a link, clicked back, and i was taken to the specific location in the original page where i first clicked the link. in fact, i think most sites act that way.
yet our intranet...does not. now, i've inherited this code (i'm actually the 3rd to inherit it), so i'm not intimately familiar with it. i looked it over and saw nothing that would be preventing page caching (as that was the only thing i could think that would do it).
any ideas what would cause different behaviour on different sites as far as clicking the back button and going to a specific location on the original page?
tx,
charlie
