While each made great effort there were always a few that slip through. When
I was Sprint we wrote a piece software that scanned WinnNT, reported back
all the software and if there wasn't a license it placed the order and
billed the cost center. The most non compliant software was WinZip and it
only cost Sprint 7 cents a copy. But for the smaller/medium companies that
have high demand and horrible budget constraints it just seemed harder for
them to stay compliant.
The cost of software is outrageous. We are going with SPLA agreement from
Microsoft so we only have to report usage. Win2003 Web Addition is about $26
a month and SQL is about $120.00.

If I knew of a company who was using bootleg software and abusing licenses
of
commercial applications (Microsoft, Macromedia, etc.), where would I go to
report them?
Thanks
