Judaism's a lot more pragmatic than people know. There's lots of tales, laws and
histories but a lot of it falls under the "interesting but who cares" category.
A discussion will go on about the age of the universe and go into huge debates,
but in the end it's just an intellectual exercise as the topic has just about
nothing to do with life.
That's the bottom line. If it impacts a persons life, it's important. If not,
then not.
Dinosaurs, aliens, chicken or egg, all nice to talk about but has just about 0
to do with how I live my life and my relationship with God and others.
Pragmatic.
