  The report didn't mention that he explained it to his teacher.  Maybe he
  did, but I'm assuming he didn't because the report only says that he
  mentioned it to another student.  That is what I base my reasoning on.  If
  he did explain it to his teacher, I would agree with you.

    I completely disagree. The kid was asked about his folks and he answered
