And I've had Maxtor replace drives just fine. And I and others I've talked
to have had more WD drives fail than Maxtor drives. I think they're about
equal. I think it's also particularly telling that both companies have
recently reduced their warranties to 1 year.
And after the IBM deathstar drives, I'm skittish of trusting them. I know
people say the newer gen are fine, but I'm fine buying my Seagates. Just got
120 GB for $50.
