Judith posts spam messages that she finds overly funny. The scanner is a 3 step
process.
1. Your not posting from a banned IP or Domain name. There are almost 90,000
spam messages archived in the spam section and from that I've been able to get a
very solid list of IPs and Domains that should be banned. Go.com is not banned,
but 2 IPs from them are. a2000.nl is banned no matter what their IP is.
2. Your a list member. If not, your blocked.
3. Your posting with a legal header. This means you have a date, from address,
to address, subject, non-forged sending IP, etc.
With all that, its still possible to spam the lists if you sign up and post with
a legal header. Someone did just that on CF-Talk last week. I was thinking of
putting in a moderate function like yahoo groups have where the first X number
of posts from a member will be moderated and after that there's no moderation.
Due to time (I've got an actual paying contract going on at the moment) and
desire, I'm holding back on that. 1 spam in a number of years is ok. Not
perfect, but...
