I had a set of business cards that I would take with me to scientific
conferences. I would hand them out to all the animal rights protesters. The
cards said:

I am a supporter of animal rights.
If I am incapacitated and cannot speak for myself, I refuse any treatment
based on research that used animals.

After handing them to the protesters a lot of them became very thoughtful
about their protest at least. Hopefully at least a few quit the movement.
