Are you sure you really want to get into a sink hole of a money pit by
starting a rescue? BTW smart idea about stopping that idea of your wife's.
Email me off list for some of the horror stories I've heard about it. Also
since you're in Virginia, you may want to check the new shelter and rescue
law. In a nutshell, if you run what can be defined as a rescue, the Dept of
agriculture can search your entire residence at any time without a warrant
for any reason. And that's just the starter.
Regardless, since you're in Virginia I can give you the name of a really
excellent exotics vet practice. The one we use is
