whether it's a popular thing to say or not - you need to remove yourself
from this situation as far and as quickly as possible.  By that I mean you
make it crystal clear that his f*ck-ups are his and that you don't have time
to babysit.  If they want quality let them pay for it, if they want cr*p let
them pay for it, either way don't assume any responsibility to train anyone
nor accept any responsibility for anyone else's work unless you are given
adequate resources to do so and you feel comfortable with ALL of the
conditions.
