There was a story in Dallas just recently where the Police came to
career day at a local school.  During the presentation, they gave the
kids access to some of their IT equipment and encouraged them to look up
their names.  One girl found out that her father had been busted for
drunk driving and her brother had been charged with several
misdemeanors.  The family was irate that they "weren't allowed to bring
this up with the child at the appropriate time".  I believe the girl was
in Jr. High.  I say too bad!
