Well, you must either pay as you go, or borrow as you go.  which is the least
expensive?

The real beneficiaries of the current administration has been his business
friends.  The middle class got only a token cut, and the lower got none.
Higher local taxes burden the middle, so you have not actually gained anything.

As for national security - the most you have seen so far is "look-good/Feel
good" steps with much less substance.

Our borders are still open, and the immigration reform cheats the legal
immigrants, as well as  presenting big potential for loss of meaningful jobs to
green card holders.

As for overpaid American workers, it goes like this, If the employer is
profiting by keeping you on at your wage scale, then it is a good thing.
Another is if you are going to market in the US then the US people must have the
disposable income to purchase your product.  They cannot purchase your
product./se4 ices if they are unemployed or under employed.   There are still 9
million looking for work in the US, regardless of the spin on the general state
of the economy, and not one of the retirees who were wiped out right off the bat
with worthless 401K plans.  All this is under the watch of dubya. There is no
movement in the congress to extend the unemployment benefits of those whose have
expired, but instead a bonanza is awarded to the drug empires at the expense of
the seniors who cannot afford prescription meds, and now are even prohibited
from re-importing them at lower cost.

If you cast your vote based on oral copulation in the Whitehouse by some bimbo,
instead of against the one who is giving you the royal shaft in the wallet, then
I would think your own priorities are misplaced.

There are many more reasons not to vote Republican, but there is no point in my
becoming personally insulting.  The facts are out there.  The lies and
misrepresentations are obvious and more are coming to light daily.  What is more
important any anything else is that if you are eligible, be sure to cast your
ballot and encourage any others, regardless of persuasion to do likewise.  Lets
not have another presidential election decided in the courts.

: Yah, that's me.  I am actually writing this from my villa in the Sud de
: France, drinking copious amounts of expensive red wine and watching topless
: bathers that I have imported for my own pleasure.  Life is good, you American
: pig!
:
: Some of my core beliefs:
:
: 1.  NAFTA is good for the US because it forces us to come to grips with the
: disportionally high wages vis-a-vis the rest of the world.  Is an American
: Union worker really worth $20/hour when others are available for $10, or $5?
: 2.  Debt by anyone is bad.  My wife and I spent the last 10  years working our
: way out of debt that we cause in the first 10.  Now come the college years...
: 3.  Government spending is the most inefficient kind because of the lack of
: incentives to spend wisely
:
: So, Bush, in the short term has been spending way to much.  I am not informed
: enough to decide how much of this is really a redirection of funds to Defense
: and how much is continued lack of discipline in the domestic arena.  I only
: hope that the continued debt build-up now leads to some level of spending
: growth reductions in the future.  I have no hope for actually spending
: reductions.
:
: Unfortunately, no one out their is yelling for fiscal discipline on the
: spending side, because no one wants to hear about their pet dollar going bye
: bye.  So while I don't especially like what he is doing, I have some hopes
: that it will lead to discipline as the noise about the deficit continues to
: grow.
:
: And since I would love to join the ultra-rich elite, I do not support any
: Federal tax increases.
:
: This should be enough fodder for quite a lengthy discussion.

:
:   Ah yes.
:
:
:   You'd much rather prefer your economy to be ravaged and your only path
:   out of the morass of debt, denial and inequity to be war.
:
:
:   One would almost think you were a member of the ultra rich elite.

:   Take that with a grain of salt. I figure I pay enough taxes as it is. I
:   don't need a Democrat to raise them any more.
