Stay in El Paso and buy some pecans. They grow there!

Oaxaca is on the list of places that has been submitted to me so I would be
interested in that, yes :) I am going with someone who has lived there, or
more precisely he will be coming from Ottawa and wants to meet in a place
called Zapoteca (? I think) that is supposed to be not too far south of
Copper Canyon. I am only about 200 miles from the border but the closest
crossing is at Santa Teresa, which is pretty desolate and therefore would
mean going by car. Alternatively I could go to El Paso and see Juarez, that
armpit of the universe, yet another time too many :) If so I think I will
take a bus. El Paso does not strike me as a safe place to leave a car I
would want to see again. Even JJ is saying he does not recommend arriving in
Juarez after dark. He is also saying things like take the trouble to get
travel checks and keep the money in three different places...
