I understanding your reasoning, but think it goes deeper than that (no pun intended for once).

My understanding of homosexual as a lay person (again, no pun intended!) is that it currently refers to "sexual orientation"; i.e., what sex you identify with as your partner.

If you commit the act, wouldn't that make you somewhat bisexual?

I've heard that a lot of people consider themselves "bi-curious" - they might never have an experience, but are curious what it would be like.

BTW I find a lot of men attractive, but would not want to have sex with them. "Attractive" <> "turned on".
