install Sun's jvm again and it worked. I don't know if there is a way to
stop VS from overwriting the version of jvm you are using though if you
uninstall and then reinstall.

Subject: Java was: Yuck!!!
Speaking of that popup message, I answered No by mistake recently when
that message appeared (I'd just installed an old Visual Studio version
that overwrote my Sun JVM yadda yadda yadda...) so the message appeared
and I answered it wrongly. Now I can't use JVM in the browser at all.
I've done everything I can think of - installed SUN JVM again,
reinstalled IE6, clicked on and off every option in the IE6 options -
does anybody have any idea who to get java back? I need JVM because I
use CFGRID in my intranet application frequently.
Thank you,
Matthew Small

The funny thing about that link to me has nothing to do with the
story. For
me it tripped the "You need Java, do you want to install it now?"
message in
IE and of course if I follow the link to MS's update site I can't get
their
JVM anymore. Struck me as ironic since it's _MS_NBC.
