It's a live version he was playing around 1998, apparently. Recently heard it on Radio Free Santa Fe. In the part where he talks about waiting for it to come around ahgain he tells a story about Nixon's son telling him that the family were fans of his. Then, he says, he asks himself "Arlo, how many things in this world are exactly 18 1/2 minutes long?" The joke of course is that Alice's Restaurant is 18 1/2 minutes long. And there you have it, he says. Proof that one person can change the world. <g>

Since we are posting lyrics in the thread anyway, here is Alice's Restaurant for those who are not familiar. The original version. I could not find a transcript of the 1998 version, though several articles mention it.
