Ahh, the classic NYHC. I just saw a guy with a Sheer Terror shirt on
last week. I know all about the sellout feeling. I have several friends
who are still living the punk rock lifestyle, no real aspirations,
working small-time jobs, still living in communal houses, etc. I know
that to them I must seem like a total sellout. But to hell with it, I
love my satellite TV, my house in the deep-yet-almost-rural suburbs, my
2 cars, and my computers and geek stuff. To each his or her own, I
suppose. In a lot of ways, I still think like a punk and that is most
important to me.  And man, do I feel old and out of place at shows.

Yeah, the worst I ever get around my son is a goddamnit here and there.
Anything else needs to be under my breath or done in private or the
human tape recorder will go to work. What is it about the environment
in which you work?

I'm from the Northwest, born and raised. More specifically, Portland by
way of Bellingham, by way of Portland. Politics -- I'm usually pretty
left-leaning -- but not an activist by any means -- and I'll just leave
it at that. A quick google tells me that A/S/L means I should reply
with 32/Yes/See Above. :-)

I've been working as a freelancer for the last 6 months, so I don't get
much human contact outside of my clients, my 2-year old, or my wife.
Add to it, I just accepted a half time position with a local government
agency doing nothing but CF. So I decided to sub to the two big CF
lists in an attempt to A) learn some new stuff, B) try to help out some
others, and C) maybe make some new friends. I've been a CF developer
going on 8 years now (started when version 3 came out, and learned to
program with it), but I feel like there is still a ton to learn, which
is why I like CF so much.

And I think I'll leave it at that before this ends up sounding like a
bad personal ad. How about everyone else here?
