Boss made joke
(very unusual for him to make pun)
Warning: possible medical TMI:
I said they were probably going to do a spinal anesthetic
rather than a general (safer for me). Hoped they would
tranquilize me enough that I wasn't aware what was going on.
Boss said "or you could just wear headphones, put on
'This Old House', then the sawing and hammering would fit!"
Told this to the surgeon, she said "good one!".
Oy vay.
BTW found out how they enforce the "no crossing legs" etc.
when one is asleep - there's a v-shaped molded foam pillow
about 2' long, with curved cutouts for your legs.
Big enough to keep knees apart. Velcro straps to fasten
around your legs. Won't be able to turn on side without help.
Hate sleeping on my back.
Told wife she needs to work on her leg strength ;-)
