Not really my area, but you may want to talk with someone who's involved in
sleep disorders. Not saying that you have one, but at the least they could
give you more information about it.

I suspect that vivid dreaming is closely tied with a vivid imagination, a
tendency to become totally focused on something in the environment or
imagery or thoughts and an intense internal life. However I have not
researched it lately so I'm not really up on the most recent research.
