My guess would have been:
He wants to set up an alibi so that when he commits his "perfect" crime, he can point to the screenshots to prove he was at his desk working.
In realty, he will have installed PC Anywhere and be controlling his PC from a bluetooth enabled pocket PC from the scene of the crime.
But we've foiled this nefarious plot! (As long as this list isn't "accidentally" erased)
