telecommuting, I've been able to survive without having one before. But,
as the jobs go to India, it appears a value-add I can offer to many clients
is showing up at there location on a routine basis.
The conversation on this list a while back about where to buy a laptop
was a great help.
I ended up with a HP PavillionZD7000 system. I bought it from Costco,
then immediately changed my mind and cancelled the order deciding to go
direct. There were a few more options I could add direct from HP, such as
a docking station and extended warranty.
Costco was charging tax, but HP was charging shipping. The tax was twice
the shipping cost, so all other things being equal buying direct from HP
would have been cheaper; and they had a estimated ship date 5 days earlier
from Costco.
