I have a law suit pending against the biggest dead beat now. So I can't say
too much. But as soon as the case is settled I intend to very widely
publicize the name of the deadbeat .com and all the principals in the
company.
All I can say for niw is be very careful who you do business with.
I did a lot of work for these dirt bags and I can look at thier site and see
them using my work. They just won't pay thier bills.
I worked for 2 weeks, submitted an invoice and continued working. When the
work was done I submitted a final invoice and asked about the first invoice.
I was told it would be paid. Not one of the invoices has ever been paid.
The other one that screwed me out of a week of pay is 1500 miles away so
there isn't too much I can do about that.
The lawyer that I hired to go after the first dirt bag had the right idea.
He took $1,000 up front and bills me by the hour against the retainer. When
the retainer is used up I'll either put more moeny down or he'll drop the
case.
Maybe web developers should start making .coms pay the same way.
