I would also recommend working through Agencies. Some are bad, some are
very very bad (have a look at www.freelancehq.com in the Industry section
to understand what some agencies get up to, but the most important thing
is that they pay you on time!

Subject: RE: Consulting Sucks?
I've been freelancing (consulting) for a year now. I've realized a freedom
unlike anything since I was a teen. I've had serious problems since not
being a slave to a company anymore, but with all this "free" time I've had
plenty of time to learn.
I never recommend this way of life. In fact, I strongly recommend against
it. Because those who know they can do it will do it and will deal with
the
possibility that at any moment their future might be taken away from them.
There's no security in freelancing. Coincidentally, there's no security in
jobs - especially in "at-will" states such as mine: California. But what
would you rather predict your future on? A boss telling you lies to keep
you as long as possible before the company runs out of money, or yourself
who decides how eager YOU need to be to pay the bills?
