I just read about about this neat volunteer program called Geekcorps.

Sort of like the PeaceCorps, but with technology. You get to spend several
months in another country, bringing them up to speed with different
technologies. The next tour goes from September to December in Ghana I
believe.

They also gave this website, www.geekhalla.org, to check out what it's like
to be a volunteer.

Might be a good experience for someone out there coming off a contract that
wants to do something a little different?

I think you'll like Mail.com. There's a lot of email address extensions you
can choose from (techie.com, mad-scientist.com, mail.com, nycmail.com....)
and it's free. There are also MANY other free web-based email clients
(Yahoo, excite, theglobe, altavista, angelfire, and so on).
