Programming and Development
Accumulated extensive experience in a wide assortment of web development
tools and technologies, including HTML, Dynamic HTML, JavaScript, Active
Server Pages, Cold Fusion, CGI (Perl), Lotus Domino.  Designed complex
relational database schemas for use in web applications using SQL via
Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL).  Used code
revision management systems.

Multimedia and Graphics
Constructed websites and stand-alone applications using Macromedia Flash,
Adobe Photoshop, and Macromedia Fireworks.

Internet Server Configuration
Installed and configured Netscape Enterprise web servers, Apache Web
servers, Microsoft Internet Information Servers, Cold Fusion Web Application
Servers, FTP Servers and Webtrends reporting tools.

Network Management/Administration
Built Windows NT and Windows 2000 peer-to-peer networks, integrated Mac and
PC�s on the same network, set up server shares, user permissions, etc.

Internet Connectivity Configuration
Implemented internet sharing connectivity over an Ethernet local area
network using TCP/IP. Installed and configured proxy servers, routers, hubs,
etc.

Installed, configured and administered various operating systems including
Windows 9x, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and OS/2.  Used Mac OS, Novell
Netware, and UNIX systems.

PC hardware installation and configuration
Built PC systems, upgraded hardware and software, troubleshot and repaired
hardware, software, and communications and networking issues.

Training
Created lesson plans and taught classes in areas of expertise, including
basic and advanced web development, web application development, Russian
language proficiency, etc.

Clearance
Maintained a Secret Clearance for work on a major contract for the
Department of Defense (National Missile Defense).  Worked both at a
contracting facility as well as in the Pentagon.  Clearance is currently
inactive.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Senior Webmaster ? Tran Interactive Design Group ? Arlington, VA ? January,
2000 - Present

Oversee programming issues, database design and development, construction of
web sites and web applications for all internal and client projects. Work
directly with clients on technical programming issues, and as liason between
in-house graphic artists, multimedia artists and clients. Utilize ASP and
Cold Fusion to create data-driven web sites and  applications: content
management tools for corporate websites; dynamic HTML newsletter generation
system; online document management system; online surveys. Utilize HTML,
JavaScript, and dynamic HTML to construct promotional HTML emails, web
sites, and applications, including a 508-compliant quiz application that
uses JavaScript which simulates a database back-end. Worked with Macromedia
Flash on websites as well as a medical notation application. Implemented
local area network ( Windows 2000 Server for Macs and PC�s), administer
network, and troubleshoot network and internet connectivity issues.  Manage
email and ftp accounts, client and internal bulletin board, and corporate
website. Coordinated hookup with DSL and integration with LAN. Research
software tools and web technologies for use internally and externally such
as: DSL providers; online training; online groupware; web applications; and
components. Contracted with a contributions portal as a Cold Fusion
Developer where I built an interface between the portal software and a bulk
email service.

Web Developer ?  Washington Square Associates ? Washington, DC ? August,
1996 � December, 1999

Worked on commercial ventures, government sites, and major defense
contracting effort. Built and maintained internet sites and intranets.
Participated in all aspects of development, from site design and layout to
web server installation and maintenance.  Installed SSL  on web servers.
Built Domino applications such as: contact management; calendaring; and
custom applications that allowed ratings to be created for stages in a
review process. Developed Cold Fusion applications that included content
management for web sites. Wrote Perl applications for handling web forms and
a custom personnel scheduling matrix. Managed the project of a major
contract for designing a dynamic website for the International Broadcasting
Bureau and Voice of America which involved several other developers, an
engineer, and graphic designer.  Lead Developer on a number of projects
ranging from solo efforts to ones which brought together teams of half a
dozen or more staff members. Worked on proposals, requirements analysis,
in-house and client training and technical support.

Webmaster/Support Services ? EIS International ? Rockville, MD ? January,
1995 � August, 1996

Led effort to design and construct corporate web site. Taught classes on
basic web development and basic internet tools and terminology both for
employees in-house and for clients at the annual Users Conference. Drafted
proposals (which were implemented) for expanding Internet use for the
company by acquiring an ISDN line and connecting all employees to it via the
LAN. Installed and tested web and ftp server software. Provided technical
support to clients for emergency management software. Provided technical
support to employees for data import tools, Internet, network, and hardware
issues. Created data import templates for main emergency management product.
Created reports to generate HTML. Created Windows help files to document
areas of expertise.

Microcomputer Consultant ? University of Virginia ? Information Technology
and Communications ? Charlottesville, VA ? September 1992 � December, 1994

Aided computer consultants, students, faculty and staff with Mac, PC, and
UNIX applications in university computer labs and through help desk phone
support. Recovered corrupted diskettes. Operated print servers. Maintained
lab printers. Diagnosed communications problems. Installed hardware. Tested
lab hardware and software. Installed Ethernet hardware and software in
dormitories and offices and diagnosed network problems.
