First off - I'm not the right guy to comment, but...

Job market might be different.
Perception, could be that you've risen to a higher level where less
opportunities exist. Which is with a curious smile - an ironic compliment.

I was impressed by your resume, your portfolio, and your personality as
manifested on your website.

What are the jobs you would like to be considered for?
from "the job" to "THE job"

working backwards might be your answer.

Eric

Story. I was laid off from a dotCA startup. Our investor cut our funding,
but threw our names into the HR pool for the their company. I received a
phone during my first week off for an interview, unfortunately i was out and
by the time I called back, they had filled the last interview spot. (but
there would be another opportunity to interview in a month or two. pssshhhh
yeah right.) So i probed for some info, and found out there was a possible
cancelation I could fill - not waiting for confirmation I went down on spec.

Sure enough, there was time to squeeze me in. (Please note: I'm not a bored
guy - I can keep myself amused. and just a few days past a stressful job
ending - I was abuzz with activity, enthusiasm and energy.) - during the
interview - I did all the talking - I was good. I was progressive, driven
and all that stuff. And then he told what the job was - a mainframe data
operator. I didn't get it.

Subject: Request for Resume Evaluation

OK this is going to sound odd, but, would anyone care
to comment on my approach to getting a job? I've got
three versions of my resume that you can find on my
personal site: the summary, the chronological history
with projects details, and the technical skills
summary. The personal site is here:
http://www.warrick.net.

A couple years ago, I used to get a couple calls a
week with job offers. Then I went off and did the
freelance thing and then my father and I go into the
ZapConnect co-venture. I searched around for job
titles describing what I do everyday and my level of
investment and responsibility with ZapConnect. The
only one that really matched up with CTO. But maybe
that's one reason why I'm not getting any calls!

I'm lucky to get one call a month now. I've had
interviews and I get mixed reactions so it's tough to
pinpoint what might be the problem. I've never heard,
"Sorry, you're just not qualified for the job.", so
what's the deal?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
