I need a Tech. Writer/CF Developer.
Location is Ocala, Florida.

Position:
Tech. Writer/ Web Developer specializing in Cold Fusion. The initial
position will be Tech. Writer, becoming a dedicated Web Developer, while
lending Tech. Writer experience to others, after completion of the initial
project.

Position is immediate and permanent, full time. Sorry, no contractors or
tele-commuters. This job requires way too much collaboration (coffee in my
office).

We are a small, rapidly growing company in the criminal records industry. We
have the largest on-line database of criminal records in the U.S., outside
of the FBI.

We have an on-line application through which our clients order their
criminal screening reports in the form of several different products. This
is NOT a shopping cart. We also have an intranet-based application which
provides many administrative procedures in a web-based format.

Requirements:

General:
Must be able to take direction, but be creative and open to new ideas. I
don't want a drone.
Must have good personal communication skills.
Must be absolutely dependable.
Must be a team player.

Tech. Writer - No BS on this one. The best candidate would be a former
military tech. writer who is now a CF developer. I am embarking on a
full-blown rewrite of a couple of applications and need the documentation
done correctly and completely. This set of documentation will be the
precedent and foundation for all other technical requirements and design
documentation for future projects.
Documentation set will include such documents as requirements definition,
requirements analysis, requirements validation, concept level software
specification ('A' spec), etc. You will be responsible for coming up with
the documentation structure. Sounds like drudgery, but I like to have some
fun with my projects.

Cold Fusion - Who cares how long? I'm one of the best and I'm an active
developer. I'll know if you know your stuff. We currently use version 5, but
will upgrade to MX, soon. Must understand process automation (back end
processes) and be able to streamline and speed-tune code.
Familiarity with Fuse Box methodology is a plus, but not necessary.

MSSQL - Version 7.0 or 2000 (If you know 7.0, you can learn 2000 quickly).
Must at least understand nested select queries, basic joins and be able to
write basic stored procedures.
Must know how to do basic admin tasks.

JavaScript - At least be able to submit a form, reposition a <DIV> and
understand how to use <CFWDDX>.

ASP - Not required, but a helpful plus.

I'm not looking for a nuclear scientist, here. We already have one of those.
The immediate and most critical need is for a technical writer. Once this
project is complete (at least the paperwork), this person will move back
into web development and support. Our applications are living creatures and
the challenges and requirement for creativity and efficiency will only grow.

I believe in having fun and being creative, but being productive. This is a
great opportunity to be creative, have a voice in the development process
and have fun doing it.

Send me a resume and, if you can, a couple of URLs to sites that show off
your documentation and CF development abilities. I'm not very formal. I just
want to see how well you write tech. and how cool you can code.

Also, a code sample would be nice. I just want to look at you coding style.
Please DO NOT send me thousands of lines of code. A couple of hundred lines
will do.

Send all correspondence to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Sorry if this isn't a well structured job ad. I'm a senior developer, not an
HR guy.
