Job Description and Qualifications for:
Job Title: Enterprise Application Architect
General Requirements:
* BS in CS, Engineering or an IT related field (MS preferred)
* Excellent Communication (oral and written) Skills
* 5+ years of proven experience developing Web-based enterprise
applications including an in-depth familiarity with IBM Rational
development process and tools
* 10+ years of in-depth full life cycle software development
experience. Strong working knowledge of software project management
practices in all phases of the software life cycle (CMM, ISO, and/or
other quality / process model initiatives)
* 5+ years of experience architecting and developing enterprise
applications using Object Oriented and Structured Analysis Methodologies
Specific Requirements:
3+ years of experience developing Java-based applications
utilizing technologies such as J2EE, EJB, etc. and .NET.
Working knowledge of SOAP, XML, Web Services, HTML, HTTP, ODBC,
JDBC, ASP, JSP
* Development and Knowledge of multi-media integration and
delivery methods in a Web environment
* In-depth Knowledge of Web/Internet application authentication,
authorization, and security
* Knowledge and Development of Relational SQL based Databases,
such as Oracle and Sybase for Web and Client/Server Applications
* Recent involvement with and leadership in migration of
Client/Server to Web based applications
Additional Required/Desired Skills include;
Knowledge of Army and DoD Human Resource applications and domain
Working knowledge of Army and DoD enterprise database structures and
data standards
The successful candidate will have a development team lead and
applications architect role. Will provide substantial and direct input
to the process of decision making for the architecture, design,
development, and deployment of a web based application (migrating from a
client/server environment). Responsibilities also include:
* Selection of appropriate technology for development and run-time
software
* Mentoring the development team on all technical aspects of
design and development
* Significant contribution to selection process for database
engine, technology, and configuration
* Selection of architecture and design model for the software
product
* Significant involvement in establishing and maintaining software
development environment
* Evaluating and recommending third party products and software
for use and integration by the team
* Evaluating and recommending software design and development
tools for use by the team
Contribute to software development best practices and continuous process
improvement
