name on it..
I guess this must be one of the minority of people who have come to work
for me and not had it work out, usually because some people think they
can apply as a CF expert after they flipped through a CF for Dummies
book for a few minutes.
Although I realize it is a waste of time to even respond to this, I feel
compelled to since this scared little person made some pretty derogatory
comments (even though anonymous so he would not have to be accountable
for any lies).
1. Our office. We have had the same main office for about 6 years now.
We opened a 2nd office about a year and a half ago in a 2nd city we
expanded into. If that's hopping, not sure what to say....
2. W2 costs the employer more than 1099. So putting people on a W2 is
actual more costly, and wouldn't be an accurate reflection of me being
cheap. As an employer, I'll take 1099 vs. W2 any day. I guess I must
have been giving you a benefit but you were too dumb to realize it,
which is probably directly related to why our relationship worked out
the way it did.
3. I have never stiffed anyone on development work, even when they fail
to deliver according to what they say they can do. I have on several
occasions paid for unusable work product to learn that someone who
claims to be an "experienced developer" couldn't hack through CF more
than a 14 year old with a weekend of training.
4. Re: timeliness and harassment over a deadline. It sounds like you
had some trouble being able to complete projects in a timely fashion.
Again, this is all indicative of why you have a high likelihood to fail
in a professional environment.
I invite you to disclose who you are, and I would be happy to discuss
the specific merits (or lack thereof) of your situation. The majority
of my team has worked for me for several years, and both of my primary
CF programmers have worked with me for 2 or 3 years each.
I encourage any employers on this list to make note of this person's
style and consider what you are getting if you come across this
"candidate".
Sorry to waste list usage with this.

South Florida CF'ers beware! This guy Adam Cohen is a farce. He jumps
from one closet-sized crapper of an office to another doing inane little
projects. If you're DESPERATE for work and decide to try it, only work
on a contract basis (for consulting rates) or he'll try to get you on
W2 because he's so cheap. Be sure to be paid (a good percentage) up
front for any development work. And also beware that you'll be harrassed
constantly about how long you're taking to code something (even though
the scope of the project is constantly changing). There are many
legitimate companies in South Florida to work for. Only get involved if
you want to be treated like his gardener.
