Senior Software Engineer Headquartered in Annapolis, MD, is a complete veterinary pharmacy that delivers prescriptions and therapeutic diets nationwide. Working on behalf of veterinarians, VetCentric provides clients with delivery of a wide selection of prescription medications, ranging from monthly heartworm and flea and tick preventives to complex compounded preparations, such as chemotherapeutic medications, sterile ophthalmics, and transdermal gels. About the Position: The successful candidate will report to the Vice President of Information Technology and will be an integral member of VetCentric's Information Technology Department, who is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting high impact Web solutions. Responsibilities include: * Code, test, and debug web applications from functional specifications using ColdFusion, JavaScript, SQL queries, and stored procedures * Participate in the preparation of functional specifications for web applications * Maintain and implement improvements to assigned production applications * Provide hands-on support for production applications as assigned, to ensure systems are consistently available * Use HTML, JavaScript, and CSS to create attractive, user-friendly interfaces About You: The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience developing advanced ColdFusion applications. Ideal candidate will have expert level experience with: * Developing medium to large eCommerce systems * CFMX, Flash, and Flex experience developing rich Internet applications. * Development tools such as ColdFusion Studio * WebServices / SOAP / Middleware * VBScript, Java, and JavaScript. * High-traffic, complex session-based ColdFusion MX applications using CFCs * General programming concepts, including object oriented design A genuine aptitude and desire to quickly master new systems and successfully apply past experience to new environments is essential. Frequent end-user interaction requires strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and a focus on customer satisfaction. Teamwork, problem solving skills, and strong organizational/planning skills are a must.
