Premier multimedia financial education company located in metro accessible
Alexandria VA is seeking Jr. to Sr. level Front End Developers to join their
team.The Web Developers (Front-End) ("Sr WDFE") collaborates with product
managers, UX designers, and software developers to build & maintain
customer-facing UI elements, web pages, and sites.
As an individual contributor, the Sr WDFE personally tackles the most
technically challenging projects, sets and documents standards, and
researches and recommends new front end technologies.
As a coach, the Sr WDFE provides leadership, training, mentoring, guidance,
and supervision to other Front End Web Developers.
Primary Responsibilities
* Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to other Front End Web
Developers
* Lead decisions related to CSS architecture, client scripting,
document structure, and directory and file naming conventions
* Develop processes to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency
* Stay abreast of new technologies; research and recommend new
approaches
* Translate prototypes and PSDs into launch-ready, validating
XHTML/CSS. Integrate final markup into ASP.NET and legacy Classic ASP
backend
* Collaborate with Product Managers, User Experience Designers and
software engineers to ensure design vision is maintained and final code is
standards compliant
* Create and maintain templates using XHTML / CSS / XML / XSL /
VBScript / ASP.NET controls
* Work with designers, hybrid designers, and software developers to
migrate pages from Classic ASP to ASP.NET, and convert tag-soup pages to
standards compliance
* Lead/tackle troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
Core Competencies
* Deep understanding of HTML 4.01, XHTML, CSS to level 2, JavaScript,
DOM2, XML/XSL
* Experience integrating server-side logic (ASP.NET Controls, Classic
ASP) into markup, and vice-versa
* Working knowledge of legacy VBScript; ability to create and modify
ASP.NET Master Pages and controls
* Some familiarity with C# and OOP
* Strong command of cross-browser development techniques and browser
degradation strategies
* Skilled at building table-free layouts using semantic markup and CSS
* Willingness to handle both large projects and small tasks as needed
* Enthusiasm and excellent communication skills
* Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at once

* Eager to learn new technologies
* Balance of technical and creative skills
