Senior Python Developer
Position Background
We have developed proprietary technologies for acquiring and
distributing data feeds relating to pricing and inventory. Input formats
include image files, structured and unstructured data, HTML, and text
files. The backend
processes are implemented Python. Outbound data is transmitted using
Java/XML. Web publication technologies are based on Coldfusion. This
position reports to the VP Technology.
Job Description
As in most small companies, exact position responsibilities are a
function of dynamic company requirements and the individual's
capabilities. However, this position will focus on:
i. Ensuring operational success in the acquisition of data, and
outbound data feeds.
ii. The ongoing development of systems to handle scale or functional
issues as they arise.
iii. Server side web development for customer-facing admin website.

iv. Participation in full life cycle development:
specification, design, coding, testing, implementation,
documentation, & support
v. Code review on other projects underway within the organization.
NOTE: This is an upper level hands-on development position, NOT a
managerial position.
Eligibility
Candidates must have 4 years active and recent experience with Python, and
associated web and database technologies. In particular, a college degree
and complete familiarity with HTML, XML, and Windows are a must. Proficiency
with Coldfusion, Java, and/or T-SQL a definite plus. The strong candidate
will possess high level organizational and communication skills, plus a
relentless attention to detail.
