while I am not sure that all of the information Robbie listed below is needed, there are certainly many posts that are missing vital information (location comes to mind), or you have to dig through paragraphs of info just to find things like the city. Having a more standardized format to post basics and more details below that if the poster wants to make the effort can certainly make it easier to quickly determine if it is a posting you are interested in.
