e-Business Strategies:

*  Collaborate with other I.S. Personnel to maintain common e-Business (ERP,
CRM, SFA, SCM) strategies

*  Determine the best and most efficient generation of code and use of web
server applications by discussing overall company web strategies

*  Ensure that Internet systems, applications and services are capable of
meeting company objectives

*  Troubleshoot web site errors, server problems and other technology issues

Web Services Administration:

*  Administer web services (Coldfusion, IIS, HTML and JavaScript)

*  Add and maintain user rights, server redirects and domain names as
necessary

*  Monitor site traffic as necessary

*  Apply relevant changes to the E-Commerce and Customer Care Content
Management Systems

 

 

Required Experience:
Requires five to seven years of web and internet related development
experience; Prior experience with E-Commerce projects in a hands on role is
required; Minimum of 3 years experience developing dynamic web sites
including building sites from the ground up and building Internet
applications using Coldfusion, HTML and JavaScript. Must have experience
implementing cascading style sheets( CSS) based page layouts.

 

Responsibilities: 
Lead e-commerce and Follett Group level website design and development work.
Build and maintain e-commerce and customer care web sites within Follett's
overall strategic goals. Support departments and content managers in their
e-commerce efforts. Support strategic initiatives to extend sales and
support to the external web site.

Key Accountability:
Web Site Development:

*  Develop and maintain high-level web e-commerce and customer care
structure based on company objectives

*  Develop and maintain logical and expandable e-commerce web sites
including reorganization of underutilized areas

*  Proactively seek opportunities to strengthen online client self-help
tools

*  Support strategic initiatives to extend sales and support to the external
web site

*  Write code that is clean, functional, efficient and compatible with major
web browsers

*  Conduct functionality and usability tests and provide feedback tools for
visitors to provide suggestions

*  Develop and maintain secure access to client-only subscription-based and
commerce areas of company web sites

*  Work with departments throughout the company to create
consistent and concise copy

*  Maintain and monitor company web sites for code and content errors and
act on content changes in a timely manner

*  Develop, update and maintain content management tools to be used by
non-technical content managers

*  Identify opportunities to grow and enhance company web sites to keep them
current and entice repeat visitors

*  Monitor industry for new and/or changing technologies and tools by
reading publications, exploring the web and participating in discussion
groups

*  Monitor visitor feedback to improve effectiveness of company web sites 

*  Distribute questions to appropriate department contacts and/or respond
directly to visitor questions as necessary


Customer Service and Support:

*  Work with and provide guidance to Marketing and other departments to
develop and maintain the company e-commerce and customer care web sites

*  Work with department representatives to assure their specific content is
aligned with company e-commerce goals

*  Enhance the product search functionality so customers can quickly fulfill
web store orders

*  Support the web store shopping cart

*  Provide support for e-commerce and customer user registration

*  Troubleshoot and correct content management tool malfunctions


Departmental Effectiveness:

*  Keep management informed through reports and communications

*  Mentor non-senior technicians and engineers and foster a team environment

*  Maintain a staff-training program that will provide for continual
advancement

*  Participate in special projects as assigned

 
Thorough knowledge of web site development practices and procedures
including proficient experience with Coldfusion, HTML, JavaScript.
Functional knowledge of Oracle back office modules like Order Management and
Customer Support is a plus. Prior experience with E-Commerce projects in a
hands on role is required. Knowledge of Java, JSP, PL/SQL a plus.
