This individual will be responsible for the overall management and success of Engineering Projects and will be part of the Executive team at Verian Technologies. Job Description and Requirements: As Director of Engineering at Verian Technologies, this individual is responsible for managing the entire Product development cycle for Verianâs suite of applications including Research and Development as well as Customization Requirements. This includes working with the Professional Services team as well as the Product Management department and the technical architect to determine product requirements and architecture design. Additionally, this individual will oversee project scope, project estimation, project planning, resource coordination, issues management, quality assurance, documentation, user acceptance testing, version control and project closure. The key metric of success in this position is delivering projects on time, on budget and with quality. This individual must love managing and leading an Engineering organization and must have great project management and mentorship expertise. This position requires the candidate to have strong recruiting, mentorship, people development and communication skills. A good working knowledge of enterprise application design will go a long way towards improving success in this position. Experience and knowledge of how to select and set up an offshore operation/relationship to augment in house development efforts in the US will also help substantially. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and polished communication skills (oral and written) are essential. Experience leading or managing enterprise application development is important. Technical experience as an architect or programmer in ColdFusion, Java and/or C++ would be a definite advantage. Experience in Spend Management or Supply Chain application development is a plus. Furthermore, the individual must be self-motivated and possess a desire to learn and grow professionally. Computer Science/Computer Engineering major with vast experience leading and managing application development projects is a requirement of this position. An average of 15% travel may be required, and the position will be based in Charlotte, NC.
