This position is a 6 month Contract possibly leading to Perm. Client is located in Salt Lake City UT, and most of the work can be done telecommuting. Continued sponsorship for H1 Visa or Corp to Corp hiring is possible for this position.
Senior Application Developers use advanced technical skills and experiences to deliver value to Company business units (and departmental customers) by leading specific areas of development capabilities. The Senior Application Developers perform and lead developers through the primary tasks of design, coding, testing, maintaining, implementing, and documenting of applications. They will also serve as application knowledge specialists, mentors, and quality checkpoints for other developers on the team. Property and Casualty Insurance industry experience a plus. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Serve as senior application developer for web applications on development team to support company's internal and external web presence on a global basis. These responsibilities include: * Lead team of web developers * Drive the gathering of business requirements * Lead in the development of technical specifications to achieve business requirements * Provide feasibility input to web page mockups * Lead in the creation and maintenance of application architectures * Develop and unit test code for applications for both company projects and system maintenance processes * Lead application maintenance releases and other development initiatives * Create and maintain application documentation (specifications, detailed designs, etc) * Serve as point of contact for technical impact analysis for web applications * Monitor and lead other developers through certain software development processes * Lead cross-training efforts on areas of application knowledge expertise * Serve as quality check for other developer*s code and documentation * Serve as a virtual team lead for a given project by results and ability to promote team spirit and camaraderie * Support IT management in maintaining an Operational Excellence environment EDUCATION / SKILL / ABILITIES: * B.A. / B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or equivalent * Significant participation in a development role of at least 3 (three) successful large web application initiatives * Five years experience in web development role supporting both application maintenance activities as well as application development initiatives *Ability to work independently * Demonstrated deep knowledge and experience in the following architecture: * Dreamweaver 2 Major Ecommerce Projects * Cold Fusion 2 Major Ecommerce Projects * Java Script 2 Major Ecommerce Projects Major Programming Language Experience one or more of Java, C, C++, C#, 4GL, SQL 4 years experience (certification a plus) * UML 2 Major Projects * MS Project 4 Major Projects * SQL Server or Oracle experience * SQL * performance tuning and database design experience (Progress, Oracle or SQL Server) * Cognos data warehouse experience a plus * Insurance rating, Insurance finance, Insurance Claims Management and policy processing knowledge a plus. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Create robust enterprise, web RIAs.
