In a nutshell: You'll be responsible for improving and maintaining Headsproutâs existing architecture and in-house tools.
What you'll be doing: As a senior ColdFusion Developer/Architect, you will provide the experience and expertise necessary to maintain and improve our existing ColdFusion based web site and in-house workflow tools. Your duties will include: ⢠Assist in the evolution of Headsprout's architecture; ⢠Designing and implementing in-house tools to improve workflow; ⢠Troubleshooting, together with the Flash Programmers, interface issues; ⢠Actively leading and conducting tests to ensure efficiency, scalability, and reliability of existing code; ⢠Identifying and troubleshooting problems related to programming issues; ⢠Participating in code reviews; ⢠Ensuring the reliability of all code; ⢠Attending technical meetings and discussions within the Software and Engineering department to disseminate techniques learned and to promote the interchange of ideas; and, ⢠Performing other duties as assigned. What we're looking for: ⢠B.S. in Computer Science or other related engineering field of study; or 5 years professional programming experience in a team environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ⢠Solid understanding of programming fundamentals and concepts; ⢠Three or more years experience with ColdFusion; ⢠Experience in at least one other programming language (preferably Java, C, C++ or C#); ⢠Experience developing CFX tags; ⢠Experience writing stored procedures; ⢠Solid understanding of SQL and data modeling. Understanding of database theory a plus; ⢠Experience with one or more RDBMSâs; ⢠Experience with and focus on clear, commented, efficient, reliable and reusable code; and, ⢠Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people.
