In a nutshell:

You'll be responsible for improving and maintaining Headsprout’s existing 
architecture and in-house tools.


What you'll be doing:

As a senior ColdFusion Developer/Architect, you will provide the experience and 
expertise necessary to maintain and improve our existing ColdFusion based web 
site and in-house workflow tools. Your duties will include:

• Assist in the evolution of Headsprout's architecture;
• Designing and implementing in-house tools to improve workflow;
• Troubleshooting, together with the Flash Programmers, interface issues;
• Actively leading and conducting tests to ensure efficiency, scalability, 
and reliability of existing code;
• Identifying and troubleshooting problems related to programming issues;
• Participating in code reviews;
• Ensuring the reliability of all code;
• Attending technical meetings and discussions within the Software and 
Engineering department to disseminate techniques learned and to promote the 
interchange of ideas; and,
• Performing other duties as assigned.


What we're looking for:

• B.S. in Computer Science or other related engineering field of study; or 5 
years professional programming experience in a team environment; or equivalent 
combination of education and experience.
• Solid understanding of programming fundamentals and concepts;
• Three or more years experience with ColdFusion;
• Experience in at least one other programming language (preferably Java, C, 
C++ or C#);
• Experience developing CFX tags;
• Experience writing stored procedures;
• Solid understanding of SQL and data modeling. Understanding of database 
theory a plus;
• Experience with one or more RDBMS’s;
• Experience with and focus on clear, commented, efficient, reliable and 
reusable code; and,
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively 
with both technical and non-technical people.
