Web developers at the Center for Teaching and Learning with Technology (CTLT) are responsible for the full software lifecycle of applications related to educational technology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. CTLT Web developers focus on the building of Web applications for faculty, students, and administrators at the School, while also working to create and deliver engaging content for classes across the academic enterprise and for the public health workforce at large.
* Responsible for the ongoing development of medium to largeâscale Web applications designed to support online educational activities at the School of Public Health. * Responsible for the full software lifecycle of the applications built by the developer, including requirements gathering, prototyping, development and deployment, applying system and audience analysis techniques to translate business requirements into functional applications. * Responsible for the database design and implementation of that design for all applications built by the developer. * Familiarity with basic objectâoriented development principles and is able to apply those basic principles to the software development lifecycle. * Familiarity with and the ability to utilize common frameworks for ColdFusion and other languages such as MachâII, ModelâGlue, and Fusebox. * Create educational content for CTLT projects, including lecture presentations, training content, animations, and Web video. Qualifications: A Bachelorâs degree in related field with 2 years of Web development experience. Excellent ColdFusion and SQL skills. Strong CSS and JavaScript skills. Good skills in developing Flash applications, including Flash Remoting and the Flex framework, a plus. Excellent problem solving, written and oral communication skills.
