JOB SUMMARY: Design, develop and support large web development projects. Supports and/or installs software applications. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general direction; typically reports to a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Key Objectives: ASP, MS SQL Server, Oracle, XML, JavaScript, VBScript, COM/DCOM development experience. Possess verbal dexterity, able to write with skill and grace is a definite plus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to understand the needs of the user and to support applications that have been placed in production. Ability to develop on multiple platforms, or to design web applications with different end user technologies in mind. Have a knack for bug fixing, unit & environment integration. Solid ability to analyze and recommend coding changes. Ability to recommend & evaluate new products to meet specific needs. Ability to maintain DB dictionaries and integration of system through DB design. Ability to create DB designs that have flexible use across the organization Ability to monitors standards & procedures for development across the organization. REQUIREMENTS: Perform other duties as required by management. A degree in Computer Science (BS/MS) or in Information systems. Web-based interactive experience, along with 5+ years professional programming experience, is necessary. Strong communication and client skills are required. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Development Tools such as Visual Interdev, Visual Basic, Visual C++., HTML, ASP and SQL Server Intermediate knowledge of PHP, ZEND, PERL & MySQL and related open development languages.
