Position Summary: Information Technology Group (ITG) is the computer information systems, networking and telecommunications department for OHSU. The position is in the Database Administration group of ITG. The Database Administration group is responsible for providing database administration support for operational information systems that utilize databases and for providing development support to ITG Applications Development groups and other areas and individuals at OHSU that utilize databases. It is also responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining processes and procedures to ensure the availability, confidentiality, security and quality of data in OHSU databases for which ITG is a steward. Additionally, the group provides system administration support of enterprise applications and web engineering support for the various OHSU web development teams. The primary purpose of this position is to support and administer the ColdFusion and CommonSpot Web infrastructure that are used to design and implement custom Web applications in support of the various OHSU missions. In addition, this position will perform some UNIX and Windows system administration as needed to support the Web infrastructure. Secondarily, this position may perform some database system administration functions in support of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle RDMBS, InterSystems Caché post-relational database management system and IBM Database 2 (DB2) based applications at OHSU. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science or related field and four years of information technology related experience including application development (two years of the required experience should include web engineer administrator experience on the same or similar web application tools, with experience in installing, configuring and tuning of web application servers and services and one year of the required experience should include programming on the same or similar web application tools); OR Bachelors degree in computer science or related field and six years of information technology related experience including application development (two years of the required experience should include programming on the same or similar web application tools with the responsibilities that included developing web applications and one year of the required experience should include web engineer administrator experience on the same or similar web application tools with experience in installing, configuring and tuning of web application servers and services); OR Equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: Experience in a multi-platform development / operational environment such as Apache, JRun, PHP, Tomcat, ColdFusion, CommonSpot and Microsoft IIS 5.0/6.0 including knowledge of not only installing and upgrading but configuring, tuning and troubleshooting. Ability to understand and work with Network team to create rules for Context Service Switch (CSS). Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, including Windows XP, Windows Server 2000 and/or 2003. Equivalent experiences in UNIX host operating systems (Solaris, HP-UX, etc). Experience with UNIX Shell and Perl scripting. Knowledge of Web authoring and content management development tools. Experience with e-commerce, intranet, and extranet development. Working technical knowledge of current Internet, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, FTP, HTTP and HTTPS. Experience with XML/XSL, SOAP, J2EE, and/or Oracle HTMLDB. Technically fluent in multiple programming and scripting languages such as ColdFusion, PHP, Java (JRun), JavaScript, Visual Basic, C#, etc. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
