Mid to Sr level Software Developer / User Experience Specialist

60% design/40% coding work.

 

 

This position works in building and designing large scale web
applications and their user experience. Maintenance and extension of our
existing web-based applications is also required.  For candidates with a
strong user experience background, this role executes both user
interface concepts and initiatives, serving multiple internal and
external customers in a fast-paced, evolving company.

This position requires both web-based technical and aesthetic design

Experience customizing interfaces for open source frameworks. 

Experience building user-centric communities such as blogs, wikis, user
profiles, chat, and other desired. Demonstrated ability to develop new
skills and self-driven learner. 

Prior experience with wireframing and rapid prototype design. 

Experience and comfort working with in teams with bother  front end and
back end developers of highly scalable, robust  solutions. 

Experience designing, implementing, and validating interface solutions
with high degrees of usability and intuitivity. 

Strong analytical and process-oriented problem-solving skills. 

Prior startup or small business experience preferred. 

Cold Fusion (at least 3 years) CSS, XHTML, AJAX, DHTML and Flex
experience required. 

PHP or other open source experience desirable. 

Ability to design/create/optimize graphical assets, typography, and
layout. 

Experiencing producing audio and video media for streaming user
experiences. 

6+ years as an interactive designer for e-commerce/web
applications/desktop software. 

Bachelor's degree in MIS. Computer Science, Industrial Design, Graphic
Design, Behavioral Sciences, Human Factors/Ergonomics,  User
Interface/Interaction Design or related field is required. 

Expert knowledge of interface design standards and best practices. 

Strong grounding in user-centered design theory and practice. 

Software development process (including RAD) and best practices trained.


Applicants must be comfortable working in cross-functional teams as well
as being self-motivated, organized and detail oriented, able to meet
deadlines and be dedicated to creating great products.  Strong team
ethic and experience in and interest in team and peer development a
necessity. 

 

 

Responsibilities 

 

Internet application design and development. 

Analyze and convert business and system requirements into detailed
system design, technical specification, and programming code. 

Participate as a key member of the cross-functional design and
development team through all phases of the software development project
cycle. 

Debug and troubleshoot existing applications. Experience with reverse
engineering, documenting, and proposing strategic redesign of code base
elements a plus.
