Title: Web Application/Software Dev Assoc (Job ID #13142)
Salary (full-time): $45,370 - $60,493

Job Summary:

The Web Developer will be responsible for programming new database-based web 
applications, and designing, creating and modifying associated databases.  The 
Web Developer modifies and upgrades existing applications as assigned or as 
requested by staff, faculty and students.  The Web Developer will keep current 
on new technologies, research them and report about the feasibility of their 
use at the Law School.  The Web Developer will be the main contact for student 
organization web developers and is responsible for training, management and 
ongoing support.  The Web Developer will work primarily with MS-SQL, Access 
databases, and Cold Fusion programming language, as well as a web content 
management system (currently Serena Collage).  This position reports to head of 
application development.

Specific Responsibilities:

Programming the web content management system and database-based web 
applications;
Working closely with head of application development, faculty, staff, and 
students to outline the project;
Designing and creating the database;
Designing and programming the application;
Creating and maintaining application documentation;
Testing the application with users and modifying as needed;
Maintaining the application after launch as needed;
Modifying and upgrading existing applications as assigned by Webmaster or as 
requested by faculty, staff and students;
Working with MS-SQL and Access databases;
Creating new databases and modifying existing databases as required;
Setting up and maintaining services that import and export data using MS-SQL 
and Cold Fusion;
Researching new technologies, as assigned, and reporting to Webmaster about the 
feasibility of their use at the Law School;
Testing and implementing such technology in applications, if needed;
Acting as the main contact for student organization web developers by training, 
managing and providing ongoing support;
Receiving requests for organization sites;
Contacting students with site information (after permissions have been set up), 
training them if needed, and being available if they need to further training 
or assistance;
Performing other related duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or the equivalent 
combination of education, training, and experience from which comparable skills 
can be acquired
3 or more years experience and demonstrated proficiency in HTML;
2 or more years experience and demonstrated proficiency in Cold Fusion 
programming language;
1 or more years experience with Microsoft- SQL;
Strong project management skills;
Strong research, analytical and troubleshooting skills;
Ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with a 
cross-section of the Law community;
Computer proficiency;
Ability to be a team player.

Preferred Qualifications:

3 or more years experience and demonstrated proficiency in Cold Fusion 
programming language
2 or more years experience with Microsoft- SQL
Experience with Microsoft Access and Excel;
Experience with Serena Collage or other web content management systems.
