Position : ColdFusion Web Developer Location : Kansas City, MO Duration : 6 Months Job Description: Position Summary This position will work in a small team environment to develop, maintain, and support Web-based customer applications. This is an area of increasing complexity and diversity with increased emphasis on delivering clean, reliable, responsive applications to multiple types of devices including smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops. It is imperative for this position to be conversant with both current and future standard technologies and toolsets, demonstrating the ability to learn and master new skills to stay abreast of the expectations of an ever more sophisticated consumer user base. Duties and Responsibilities ⢠Work with internal clients and stakeholders to gather and understand requirements. ⢠Work as part of a team to create new applications, including testing, peer review and implementation. ⢠Understand and improve on existing systems. ⢠Troubleshoot and correct errors in support of internal users and clients. ⢠Collaborate and coordinate with other departments. ⢠Use approved company procedures for documentation and change control. Skills, knowledge and abilities ⢠Must have demonstrated experience with: o Web development and data delivery including HTML, Javascript, jQuery, XML, JSON, SQL o Integration technologies including Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) o Java and Cold Fusion languages o Developing for cross-browser compatibility including IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari o User interface design for various form factors such as desktop, tablet and mobile phones ⢠Preferred candidate will also have additional skills and experience with: o Mobile app development, mobile frameworks (JQuery Mobile, PhoneGap) o AJAX, Bootstrap, HTML5 o 3-5 years Cold Fusion development o Web content management systems (especially SiteCore) o Responsive design ⢠Other desirable skills and experience include: o Familiarity with social media tools and platforms It is paramount that the candidate is motivated to learn and stay abreast of current technology and tools and to share knowledge with team members. Education and Experience Requirements ⢠Bachelorâs degree, or equivalent work experience, computer-related preferred. ⢠Minimum 5 yearsâ experience in Web development. Professional Skill Requirements: ⢠Proven ability to transfer knowledge, capabilities and skills to the team during the course of the engagement ⢠Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment ⢠Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment ⢠Desire to work in an information systems environment ⢠Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills ⢠Strong at PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Project, MS Visio, SharePoint ⢠Experience with HP hardware, Oracle software/databases ⢠Experience with Electrical Utility preferred ⢠Ability to meet travel requirements Please let me know anyone who might be a good fit.
